Playoffs Results

In the Super J Under 16 Schools Basketball Tournament defending champions Leon Hess Comprehensive narrowly defeated Corinth Secondary 19 – 17 in a lackluster affair. At Half time the score was 9 -8 in favour of Leon Hess. The main contributors for Leon Hess were Jamal Adjodha 8 Points, 5 Rebounds and 5 Steals and Denzel Renee 8 Points. For Corinth Michael Jn. Paul had a game high 11 Points and 14 Rebounds.

Buoyed by a very appreciated supporting crowd Tournament favourites Castries Comprehensive was knocked out of the Play Offs when they were defeated by a spirited and determined St. Mary’s College 73 – 61. It was a very exciting match up, however the momentum swung College’s way when Zevi Clarke one of Castries Comprehensive main players found himself in foul trouble midway through the second Quarter and was forced to spend most of the time on the bench. in his absence his fellow players failed to step up their game to which College took full advantage of and at one point time opened up a 22 point margin. At half time the score was 34 – 34 but at the end of the third quarter College had out scored Castries Comprehensive 22 – 5. They never looked back and though they were outscored in the final quarter 17 – 22 the damage was already done.

College was led by Lance Louis 27 Points, 12 Rebounds; Omodelle Phillip 13 Points; and Herbert Regis 8 Points.

The action continues on Monday in the Super J Under 16 with Vieux Fort Comprehensive playing host to Babonneau Secondary; Castries Comprehensive takes on Clendon Mason Memorial at the Vigie Complex at 2.00 p.m. while in the Under 19 Division Title contenders George Charles Secondary takes on the Micoud Secondary at 3.00 p.m. at the Vigie Complex.
